The Epson Stylus DX4850 printer model belongs to the Epson Stylus DX4800 printer series. It contains a 4-color inkjet print technology with an Epson Micro Piezo print head. In addition, Epson Stylus DX4850 includes an internal print driver with a variable-sized droplet technology for a minimum droplet size of 3 picolitres (pl). At the same time, it has a print head of 90 nozzles each for black, cyan, yellow, and magenta.
It also has an optimum print resolution of up to 5760 x 1440 optimized dots per inch (dpi) on suitable media types. This resolution is also attainable when using the Resolution Performance Management (RPM) system. In terms of the print speed at the economy mode, the speed includes 20 pages per minute (ppm) for black documents. However, color printing at this economy mode also has a rate of 19 ppm.

The Epson Stylus DX4850 model can run at 16 copies per minute when copying. At the same time, color copying is 89 seconds on average. The scanning speed is at 30 milliseconds per line at 1200 dots per inch (dpi). But the scanning speed is 15 milliseconds per line at 600 dpi.
Epson Stylus DX4850 is compatible with MS Windows 98SE, Windows Me, Windows 2000, and Windows XP. On the other hand, the compatible interface option is the standard USB 2.0 hi-speed port for PC and Mac connections.
